Our offer to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Oliver Goldsmith we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all our children, whatever their needs or abilities. They are helped to develop confidence in their own abilities and strengths in all areas of their school experiences. Support is provided for any pupil who may, at any time in their school career, require different or additional provision to help them achieve their full potential.

All Brent Local Authority (LA) maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs /Disabilities and are supported by the LA to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

The four broad 'areas of need' are Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, and Sensory and Physical Needs.
